ABOUT BEAR PAW MACHINE QUILTING... owned and operated by Kathy Bradbury
I am a self taught quilter who began making quilts around 1994 and Longarm quilting in 2002. I made the decision to become professional in early 2003, right after I discovered I was really quite obsessed! So why not do what I love best?!
I have worked in a local quilt shop, I have taught several mystery quilt classes and a few classes on how to machine quilt on your domestic machines. I also served for two years as President of the Frisco Quilt Guild in Frisco, TEXAS, as well as being a member of several other quilt guilds. I have even judged a small quilt show, in Mineola, TX! I had a lot of fun, but took my job very seriously! (There are a few resulting photos on the link). In 2005 I served as the Chairman in the judging category at the Plano Quilt Show in Plano, TX. That was quite an experience!
I am proud to share that several Quilt Guild Raffle quilts were also quilted by me in the past few years, and pictures of them are included on my Gallery. There is a link to my webshots is below.
I have earned many ribbons for my quilts, including a BEST OF SHOW at the Plano Quilt Show in Plano, TX, 2001! (I love to go back to that moment!) I have several First Place Ribbons, a Mayor's Ribbon (Jefferson, TX) several Second, Third and Honorable Mention ribbons as well. My "Thimble-bury's" quilt was also juried into the AQS show in Nashville, TN in 2004!! I have received several cherished "Quilter's Award Ribbons" for my longarm quilting.
I have two grown children, my beautiful daughter is married and has a family of her own, including her husband who has really grown on us and my two adorable grandchildren! My son (my baby) has graduated college, married a wonderful girl and they have a sweet baby girl! (Don't make the mistake of asking me about my grandchildren. I'm afraid I'd have tell you!!) I reside in Plano, Texas with my wonderful, supportive husband of 32 years! He's such a lucky man! :-)
